Man alleges Toyota failed to honor warranty of defective Tundra

HOUSTON — A Cypress man alleges Toyota has failed to honor its warranties on a Tundra he purchased which suffered from electrical problems and other issues. 

Alexander Kurdoghlian filed a complaint Nov. 15 in Harris County District Court against Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A., Inc., alleging violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act and Magnuson-Moss Federal Trade Commission Act. 

According to his complaint, Kurdoghlian purchased a Toyota Tundra on May 29, 2020, for $50,637. He alleges the Tundra had "non-conformities" including electrical engine noise, issues withe HVAC and radio and that he notified Toyota and/or its authorized dealers in July of 2020, January of 2021, March of 2021, April of 2021 and in May of 2021. 

Kurdoghlian further alleges authorized Toyota dealers could made "ineffective repair attempts" and that the Tundra is "worthless and/or substantially impaired." He claims Toyota breached one of or more of its implied warranties and as well as breached its express warranty on the vehicle. 

Kurdoghlian seeks monetary relief of more than $100,000, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by G. Brad Riffe of the Riffe Law Firm PLLC in Frisco.
