HOUSTON — A Harris County man claims a friend made defamatory statements against him regarding frequenting illegal massage parlors.

Sanghe Yun filed a complaint Dec. 2 in Harris County District Court against Sang Bun Yi alleging defamation, negligence and other claims.

Yun alleges in his complaint that on April 13, 2021, he found out that Yi made several false statements to their mutual friends. Specifically, Bun claims Yi stated that Bun had met his wife at a massage parlor and implied his wife used to work as prostitute at an illegal massage parlor.

Yun also claims Yi implied that Yun frequented illegal massage parlors before marrying his wife and that he was cheap, uncaring and that he was a poor hostess, despite continuing to accept dinner invitations.

Yun alleges that that Yi's false statements were "meant to incite, disgust and hatred towards him and his family and to damage his "integrity and good name" within the community.  He also alleges the defendant's false statements caused him grief, humiliation and caused disruption to his daily life.

Yun seeks monetary relief of more than $50,000, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Jennifer Jenkins of The Law Office of Jennifer R. Jenkins in Houston.
