HOUSTON — A model alleges that she was sexually assaulted by the CEO of Farouk Systems during a photo shoot for their beauty products.
Destini Casey filed a complaint Dec. 15 in Harris County District Court against Farouk Systems Inc., doing business as Chi and Biosilk and Rami Shami, Ind., and as CEO of Farouk Systems, Inc., alleging sexual assault.
Casey, who was in her middle 20's at the time, alleges in her suit that she was working as an independent contractor, talent and model for Farouk Systems while selling their beauty products. She alleges that in September of 2020, she was scheduled for a commercial photo shoot that was located in a remote area with several locked gates surrounding the property and without the normal full staff that would usually be present for a production. Casey claims while at the location, Shami ordered sit down food service and alcoholic drinks for the two of them and then sexually assaulted her while she was trapped at the gated property.
Casey seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million, interest and all other just relief. She is represented Erik Smith of The Law Office of Erik Smith.
