HOUSTON — A restaurant and bar in Brazoria County is facing a negligence claim after a customer suffered serious injuries while on their property.

Laura Anderson and Bailey Anderson filed a complaint Dec. 23 in Harris County District Court against Beach Bums Bar LLC, James McDonald and Cason McDonald alleging negligence and other claims.

The plaintiffs claim in their suit that Laura Anderson suffered "severe" personal injuries while at the Beach Bums Bar & Grill in Brazoria County on Dec. 31, 2020. The plaintiffs claim Beach Bums Bar allowed "one or more" conditions on their premises that posed unreasonable risk of harm and that Beach Bums failed to adequately warn of the hazard or make their premises reasonably safe.

They further claim Beach Bums failed to supervise and exercise control over the premises regarding the dangerous condition that was created by the activities of third parties. The plaintiffs allege that Anderson suffered physical pain, impairment, lost wages and incurred medical and health care expenses as a result of the accident.

The plaintiffs seek monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. They are represented by Scott Lannie of The Law Offices of Scott C. Lannie PC in Baytown.
