HOUSTON — A man alleges he suffered injuries at an LA Fitness gym in Houston due to defective equipment.

Larry Enzer filed a complaint Jan. 7 in Harris County District Court against Fitness International LLC.

Enzer alleges in his suit that unfit equipment, improperly trained staff and a lack of supervision at an LA Fitness gym in Houston caused him to suffer severe injuries. He claims that while using the facility's elliptical device, the machine's right pedal suddenly snapped off and caused him to fall forward and suffer injuries to his leg, hip, back and head.

Enzer alleges that that Fitness International failed to provide him with adequate safety instructions and supervision and failed to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition. He also alleges Fitness International failed to train its employees to identify the dangerous condition, warn of the hazard or how to offer him assistance after his injury.

Enzer seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. He is represented by Brian Beckcom and Brendan Fradkin of VB Attorneys in Houston.
