Lawsuits

HOUSTON — A woman claims her father suffered from a broken hip for two weeks without medical treatment after a fall at a Houston nursing facility.

Paulette Jackson, on behalf of Jerry Don Jackson filed a complaint April 15 in Harris County District Court against The Ireland Family Limited Partnership, a Texas Limited Partnership, Concierge Care LLC, Dublin INC., and Concierge Park LP doing business as The Concierge alleging negligence.

According to the plaintiff's complaint, Jerry Don Jackson was admitted to the Concierge in January of 2022. She claims that he had a history of strokes, vision impairment and diabetes and that the defendants were aware of his conditions.

The plaintiff also claims that Jackson had trouble communicating due to heavy medications and that the Concierge staff was unaware that he suffered a fall and that his hip had been broken for at least a week as well as suffered a fractured hand. She alleges the defendants neglected Jackson, failed to provide reasonable medical and nursing care and failed to have appropriate supervision and training of its staff. She also alleges the defendants did not maintain accurate and complete clinical records or have enough staff to ensure the required monitoring of its residents.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Curtis Clinesmith and Kaitlin Bethay of The Clinesmith Firm in Dallas.
