HOUSTON — A Houston restaurant is facing a negligence claim from a customer who slipped while walking to the buffet.

Maria Del Pilar filed a complaint April 25 in Harris County District Court against Lambo Inc., alleging negligence.

The plaintiff was at Lam Bo Restaurant on Westheimer in Houston on Jan. 23, according to her complaint. She claims that as she was walking towards the buffet, she slipped on an "unknown" slippery substance which caused her to fall and suffer a fractured knee.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant's negligence for allowing its premises to become dangerous and for allowing the dangerous condition to exist. She also alleges the defendants did not keep the restaurant in a reasonably safe condition and the floor free from slippery conditions. The plaintiff claims the defendants were also negligent for failing to inspect the restaurant and correcting the hazard to safeguard its customers.

She further claims the restaurant failed to warn of the dangerous condition which caused her to slip and fall, as well as her impairment, disfigurement and loss of earning capacity.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Pavel "Paul" Savinov and Sarah Y-Nhi Huynh of the The Huynh Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
