Woman alleges beauty school employee burned her face during cosmetic treatment

HOUSTON — A woman alleges a beauty school employee burned her face during a cosmetic treatment. 

Cynthia Soliz filed a complaint  May 4 in Harris County District Court against Sara Cruz doing business as American Beauty School and Norma Macias.

According to Soliz's complaint, she received cosmetic treatments at the American Beauty School performed by the school's employee Norma Macias on May 3, 2021. Soliz claims she suffered burns to her face during the treatment which resulted in scarring. 

She further claims the defendants breached the standard of care when it placed a cosmetic product on her face that burned her skin. Soliz alleges she has also suffered impairment, loss of income, mental anguish and incurred medical bills as a result of her injuries. 

Soliz seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Patrick O'Hara of The O'Hara Law Firm PC in Houston.
