HOUSTON — McDonald's employee and father of two alleges the company has failed to fix a direct deposit issue and that he is owned more than $9,000 in back pay.

Michael Palmer filed a pro se complaint May 17 in Harris County District Court against McDonald's.

Palmer alleges in his complaint that he began working at a McDonald's restaurant on Highway 146 in Bacliff on May 2, 2022, for $9.50 per hour.  He claims he was issued a bank card which was given to all new hires in order to receive his paycheck through direct deposit. He alleges that he was told his first check would be issued May 16, 2022, upon activation of his card.

Palmer further alleges McDonald's never submitted his information to the bank it contracted with for the cards which caused his card not be activated and for him not to get paid.

He alleges that he, his wife and two children reside at a motel and that he is owed $9,760. Palmer claims McDonald's has failed to work on activating the card or pay him since he started with the company.

Palmer seeks monetary relief of more than $15,000, interest and all other just relief.
