GALVESTON — A delivery worker is claiming negligence against two home owners after being attacked by their two dogs while dropping off a package.

Keith Ward filed a complaint May 19 in Galveston County District Court against Dustin R. Aadland and Vanessa C. Aaland alleging negligence and strict liability.

Ward, according to his complaint, was delivering a package to the Aadlands' residents in Galveston on Oct. 12, 2020. He claims that while delivering the package, he was attacked by the Aadland's two dogs and suffered injuries to his back. Ward further claims in his suit that the defendants were aware that their dogs were aggressive yet allowed them to be unrestrained.

He alleges the defendants' negligence for also failing to properly train the dogs or warn of the danger such as posting signs about the presence of the dogs and the boundaries of the electronic fence. Ward also alleges that as a result of the attack, he suffered disfigurement, impairment, economic damages as well as pain and suffering.

Ward seeks monetary relief of less than $250,000, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Patrick O'Hara of The O'Hara Law Firm PC in Houston.
