WACO - A patent suit has been brought against eBay over the alleged infringement of cursor marketing technology.
Lexos Media IP filed the suit on June 22 in the U.S. District Court for Western Texas, Waco Division.
Lexos Media is alleging infringement of patent Nos. 5,995,102 and 6,118,449, both entitled “Server system and method for modifying a cursor image.”
“The Asserted Patents are directed to improvements in the field online advertising, and provide technical solutions to problems being encountered in that burgeoning field,” the suit states. “One of the innovations eBay has used to build the popularity and profitability of its ebay.com website is the cursor modification technology of the Asserted Patents.”
Lexos Media seeks a judgment that eBay has directly infringed one or more claims of the asserted patents; and a judgment and order requiring eBay to pay Lexos Media damages adequate to compensate for infringement.
The plaintiff is represented by the Dallas law firm of Buether Joe & Counselors.
