HOUSTON — Two sisters allege they were viciously attacked outside a teahouse and suffered serious injuries.

Khanh Kieu Ngoc Ngueyn and Phuong B. Nguyen filed a complaint June 30 in Harris County District Court against Nhung Tran and Thy T. Nguyen alleging intentional infliction of emotional distress, defamation and other claims.

The plaintiffs, according to their complaint, were at "J Tea" on June 3, 2002. They allege that while at the teahouse, they were assaulted by the defendants. Specifically, they claim that as they were walking out of J Tea, defendant Thy approached the entrance and "viciously" slapped Khanh. They further claim that defendant Nhung hit Phuong on the head, punched her and pulled her hair.

The plaintiffs allege that the defendants also defamed them and interfered with their business by posting false information and facts about them and their business. The plaintiffs also allege that as a result of the attack, they suffered injuries to their faces, heads, necks, legs and arms. They claim that Khanh's daughter, who witnessed the attack, suffered emotional damages. They also claim they have suffered loss of reputation, goodwill and business income as a result of the defendants' defamatory statements.

The plaintiffs seek monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. They are represented by Kevin Pham of The Pham & Nguyen Law Group PC in Houston.
