Lawsuits

HOUSTON — AT&T Texas claims an excavation company caused more than $9,000 in damages to their fiber optic cable at a property in Tomball.

Southwestern Bell Telephone Company doing business as AT&T Texas filed a complaint July 24 in Harris County District Court against Ronco Utilities Inc., alleging negligence.

AT&T Texas alleges in its complaint that on July 24, 2020, Ronco Utilities was doing excavation work near its property on FM 2920 Road in Tomball when it damaged their property. Specifically, AT&T alleges Ronco struck and damaged their fiber optic cable causing $9,911.47 in damages.

AT&T claims Ronco's work and supervision of the project was performed in a negligent manner and that they failed to take reasonable and necessary care to prevent damage to their property. They further claim Ronco exercised control over the area where the excavation work was being performed and their negligence caused them to suffer damages.

AT&T Texas seeks monetary relief of $250,000 or less, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. They are represented by Brian Jacob of BSJ Law Group PLLC in Waco.
