Houston nursing home worker alleges improper training for wheelchair use led to her injury

HOUSTON — A Houston rehab and nursing facility is facing a claim from an employee who fell and suffered injuries during the scope of her employment.

Marcia Jones filed a complaint July 28 in Harris County District Court against Paradigm at Woodwind Lakes alleging negligence. 

Jones claims in her suit that she was working for Paradigm on Oct. 12, 2020, when she fell and suffered injuries. She alleges Paradigm's negligence for failing to properly train her in safety polices and procedures including for the safe operation of wheelchairs and did not warn of the dangers and hazards. 

Jones also claims the defendant was negligent for failing to properly supervise her which caused her to suffer pain, mental anguish, impairment and disfigurement. She also claims she suffered loss of earning capacity and incurred medical care and expenses as a result of her injuries. 

Jones seeks monetary relief, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by James Lassiter, III and Timothy McHale of The Lassiter Law Firm in Houston.
