HOUSTON - A worker is alleging ExxonMobil’s negligence led to his injuries at a drill site earlier this year.

Marcus Torres filed suit against ExxonMobil and XTO Energy on Aug. 26 in Harris County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on March 31 the plaintiff was performing work on a drill site in Martin County that was under the control of the defendants. While removing drill pipe from the ground, one of the pipe segments dislodged as a result of dangerous conditions at the drill site and struck the plaintiff, injuring him.

The suit alleges the defendants negligently failed to maintain a safe work environment.

The plaintiff is seeking compensatory, actual, consequential and exemplary damages. The plaintiff is also suing for his pain, mental anguish, impairment and disfigurement.

The Arnold & Itkin law firm and attorney Bilaal Badat are representing the plaintiff.
