GALVESTON — A League City business is alleging negligence after a FedEx driver caused severe damage to their building.

B W Hunting LLC filed a complaint Sept. 21 in Galveston County District Court against Jose Muniz and FedEx Ground Package System Inc.,

According to the plaintiff's complaint, B W Hunting is the owner of a building in League City. B W Hunting alleges that while delivering a FedEx package to their building, Muniz backed the delivery vehicle into the building's metal awning  and caused "severe" structural damages including cracks in the brick and masonry. The plaintiff further claims the damage to their building was so severe that the building became structurally unsound and that the specific design of the brick has been discontinued which required them to replace the entire structure with new brick.

B W Hunting alleges Muniz's negligence for failing to maintain distance from the building, making an unsafe maneuver into the building and for not turning around or using mirrors when reversing the delivery truck. They also allege Muniz was negligent for failing to control the delivery truck and operate it in a reasonable and prudent manner.

B W Hunting seeks monetary relief, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. They are represented by Jason Webster, Heidi Vicknair and Chelsie King Garza of The Webster Law Firm in Houston.
