Woman sues alleging she suffered severe burns after waxing at Houston salon

HOUSTON — A woman claims she suffered severe burns on her neck and face after a waxing at a salon in Houston. 

Maggie Leal filed a complaint Oct. 4 in Harris County District Court against Makeup & More Salon Inc., alleging negligence. 

Leal alleges in her complaint that she went to the Makeup & More Salon on Gulf Freeway in Houston on July 16, 2022 for waxing and threading services. She claims that the wax used on her was too hot and caused her to suffer serious burns to her neck and face. Leal alleges Makeup & More's negligence for failing to exercise reasonable care. 

She further alleges as a result of Makeup & More's negligence, she suffered pain, mental anguish, impairment and incurred medical treatment expenses. 

Leal seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by R. Clive Markland of Roberts Markland LLP in Houston.
