GALVESTON — A subcontractor who was not paid in full is alleging breach of contract against the contractor who hired them and the insurance company who issued the bond for the construction project.

American Door Products Inc., filed a complaint Nov. 1 in Galveston County District Court against Cadence McShane Construction Company LLC and Liberty Mutual Insurance Company alleging breach of contract.

According to American Door's complaint, they entered into an agreement with McShane Construction for subcontracting work at Hall Elementary School in League City. They claim they performed and completed the work on the project with McShane failing to pay them in full for labor, materials and equipment amounting to $51,573.60.

American Door alleges that McShane Construction is in breach of their contract and that Liberty breached its obligations under the bond they issued to McShane by refusing to pay the contract balance.

American Door seeks monetary relief of less than $250,000, interest and all other just relief. They are represented by Denis Ducran and Sadiq Ali of Peckar & Abramson PC in in Houston.
