Leah Burton and Brady Ortego Join Steptoe & Johnson’s expanding Collin County and San Antonio Offices

Leah K. Burton and Brady E. Ortego have joined the law firm of Steptoe & Johnson PLLC as Members in the Collin County and San Antonio offices. Burton and Ortego join the firm’s Business Department and will focus their practices on community association law.

“We’re happy to welcome Leah and Brady to our growing Texas offices,” said Steptoe & Johnson CEO Christopher L. Slaughter. “Both bring decades of experience in community association and real estate law to Steptoe & Johnson and their addition to our firm will greatly benefit our clients.”

Burton has experience serving as general counsel to property owners’ associations for single-family communities, master-planned developments, condominium regimes, and cooperatives. She is well-versed in corporate governance, governing document creation, contract review, collection of delinquent assessments, restrictive covenant enforcement, alternative dispute resolution, and federal and state law compliance. Burton earned her law degree from Southwestern Law School and her bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University.

Ortego’s background includes representing a variety of property owners’ associations such as master-planned, condominium, townhome, commercial, and single-family communities. He also has experience working with real estate developers in the creation of communities and community associations. Ortego earned his law degree from the South Texas College of Law and his bachelor's degree from Stephen F. Austin State University.
