HOUSTON — A truck driver alleges improperly stacked pipes at a transportation facility in Houston caused his injuries.

Joe Evans filed a complaint Dec. 5 in Harris County District Court against Richway Cartage Inc., and Richway Transportation Services Inc., alleging premises liability.

Evans, according to his complaint, was at Richway's facility on Industrial Road in Houston on Oct. 16, 2021. He claims that while waiting for his truck to be loaded, pipes that were piled up to the side came loose, rolled on him and caused him to be knocked to the ground.

Evans alleges Richway failed to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition, failed to warn of the dangerous condition and did not properly train its employees. He further alleges Richway failed to implement proper polices and procedures to make sure its premises was safe including stacking the piping properly. Evans claims he suffered impairment, disfigurement, lost earnings and incurred medical care expenses as a result of his injuries.

Evans seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Jordan Glaze, Josh Garrett and Greg Geddie of Glaze Garrett in Gilmer.
