GALVESTON — A Colorado man is being accused of failing to pay the more than $50,000 he owes a Galveston County woman, who along with her crew, transported his vessel to Mexico.

Belinda Richard filed a complaint Dec. 5 in Galveston County District Court against Rick Holtz alleging breach of contract.

According to Richard's complaint, she contracted with Holtz in March of 2022, to transport the "Let's Dance" vessel from Clear Lake/Galveston Bay area to Isla Mujeres, Mexico. She claims the price for the transportation was $500 per day plus $250 per day for expenses for the first mate, engineer and deckhand.

Richard alleges she transported the vessel, performed and supervised the authorized work and delivered the boat per her agreement with Holtz. She claims she submitted an invoice to Holtz for $52,862.07 for services, parts and expenses which Holtz has failed and refuses to pay.

Richard seeks monetary relief, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Spencer Markle of Markle Delacruz LLP in Houston.
