GALVESTON — A Galveston County man alleges he slipped on "grease" and "slime" that was on the floor of a local business and suffered serious injuries.

Malcom Guidry filed a complaint Jan. 19 in Galveston County District Court against Chacon Investments LLC alleging negligence.

According to his complaint Guidry was at the defendant's property in La Marque on Jan. 7, 2023. He claims that while on the property, he slipped on "a mixture of grease and slime" and fell to the ground. Guidry alleges he suffered severe injuries to his elbow and other parts of his body as well as suffered lost wages and incurred medical expenses.

He claims Chacon was negligent for failing to maintain its floors and walkways in a reasonably safe condition and failed to inspect its premises. Guidry also claims Chacon was negligent for failing to correct the dangerous condition and that there were no warning signs in the area to let him know of the hazard.

Guidry seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by MJ Lahham of The Daspit Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
