GALVESTON — A Texas City man is claiming negligence after allegedly being attacked and injured by a neighbor's dog.

Trey Newman filed a complaint Jan. 26 in Galveston County District Court against Carol Kraemer alleging negligence and liability.

Newman, according to his complaint, was walking his dog on 8th Avenue North in Texas City on Oct. 29, 2022. He claims that Kraemer's Rottweiler escaped his yard and began fighting with his dog. He further claims as he tried to rescue his dog from the fight, Kraemer's dog knocked him to the ground and bit him in the face.

Newman alleges as a result of the attack, he suffered injuries to his neck, back and face. He claims Kraemer's negligence for failing to keep her dog restrained and that she knew or should have known that the dog was vicious and for failing to have behavior training for the dog or prevent the dog from injuring others. Newman also claims he suffered lost wages, physical impairment, disfigurement and incurred medical expenses.

Newman seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Vincent Loreto of The Daspit Law Firm PLLC in Dallas.
