BNSF Railway worker injured in transport van crash sues for $1M plus

GALVESTON — A BNSF Railway worker who was injured in a transport van crash is claiming negligence. 

Louis Abraham filed a complaint Jan. 23 in Galveston County District Court against Hallcon Corporation frequently known as Renzenberger Inc., BNSF Railway Company and Renzenberger Inc., alleging negligence. 

Abraham, according to his complaint, was a passenger in a van owned by Hallcon and driven by a Hallcon Corporation employee. He claims while working for BMSF Railway, he was being transported when the driver drove the van into a ditch and caused him to suffer injuries to his back and neck. He alleges BNSF's negligence for failing to provide a reasonably safe workplace. 

He also alleges Hallcon's negligence for its' driver failing to keep a lookout and for traveling at a fast rate of speed. Abraham further alleges the driver failed to apply the brakes in a timely manner or turn to avoid the accident. Abraham claims as a result of the accident, he suffered pain, mental anguish, impairment, disfigurement, lost wages and incurred medical expenses. 

Abraham seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Clint McGuire of Martinez & McGuire PLLC in Houston.
