Lumber company alleges contractor failed to pay for more than $17,000 in materials

GALVESTON — A Galveston County lumber company alleges a contractor has failed to pay for more than $17,000 for materials and merchandise purchased nearly a year ago. 

Parker & Pompa Inc., doing business as Ideal Lumber Company filed a complaint Feb. 3 in Galveston County District Court against Bruce Fortin, individually and doing business as Sea House Construction. 

According to Ideal Lumber's complaint, Sea House Construction signed a credit account application for goods and merchandise on March 16, 2022. They claim they delivered Sea House the materials and goods for a total sum of $17,088.16 at various times and that Sea House has failed to make the required payment. 

Ideal Lumber further claims it has made numerous demands for the funds with Sea House refusing to pay the entire balance due including accrued finance charges of $1,660.09. 

Ideal Lumber seeks monetary relief of $250,000 or less, interest and all other just relief. They are represented by Michael Wilson of Rider & Wilson in Galveston.
