Chevy owner claims GM failed to honor warranty on defective Silverado

GALVESTON — A Chevy Silverado owner alleges GM has failed to honor the warranty on the defective vehicle. 

Anthony James York filed a complaint Feb. 8 in Galveston County District Court against General Motors LLC alleging breach of warranty and other claims. 

York purchased a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 on Nov. 17, 2021, according to his complaint. He alleges the vehicle included a three year/36,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and five year/60,000 mile powertrain warranty. York claims the vehicle was defective in materials and workmanship including engine tapping and knocking, lifter defects, transmission temperature warning message and overheating of the transmission. 

He further claims despite numerious repair attempts, the problems with the vehicle were not fixed and that GM has failed to honor the terms of the vehicle's warranty. York alleges as a result of GM's breach of warranty, he has suffered significant monetary and consequential damages.  

York seeks monetary relief of $250,000 or less, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Adam Mott of The Law Offices of Jason S. Hegedus PLLC in Houston.
