HOUSTON — A woman claims a large palette left on the floor of a Houston Popeyes caused her fall.
Linda Taylor filed a complaint Feb. 22 in Harris County District Court against Z&H Food Inc., doing business as Popeyes #43 alleging premises liability and negligence.
Taylor alleges in her complaint that she was at Popeyes on Little York Road in Houston on Dec. 18, 2021. She claims that as she was placing her order at the front counter, she tripped and fell over a large palette on the floor. Taylor alleges as a result of the fall, she suffered injuries to her left side and required medical treatment.
She claims Popeyes failed to ensure that the walking and working areas of the restaurant had no trip hazards, failed to warn of the hazardous palette and was negligent for allowing the large palette to be placed near the front counter. She also claims Popeyes failed to inspect its restaurant and negligently hired and supervised its employees who failed to maintain the premises. Taylor alleges she also suffered lost wages and disfigurement.
Taylor seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Steven Hollingsworth and Chelsea Murfree of The Law Offices of Hilda L. Sibrian PC in Houston.
