Dry cleaning store worker sufferers injury from iron press, sues for $1M

HOUSTON — A dry cleaning store worker who was allegedly injured while using an iron press machine is claiming negligence. 

Eva Rivera filed a complaint March 7 in Harris County District Court against My Ha, LLC doing business as Dry Clean Planet #10, alleging neglience. 

Rivera, according to her complaint, was working for Dry Clean Planet in Spring on Dec. 2, 2022. She alleges that as she was using the jean iron press machine, the top part of the machine suddenly fell on her head. Rivera claims the defendant's negligence for not properly training her, failing to give her supervision and for failing to inspect the work area. 

She also claims the defendant failed to give her reasonably safe and suitable tools and failed to maintain their equipment. Rivera alleges she suffered impairment, disfigurement, lost earnings and incurred medical expenses as a result of the accident. 

Rivera seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Sarah Y-Nhi Huynh, Pavel Savinov and Michael Alvarez of The Huynh Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
