HOUSTON — A dentist in Pasadena is facing an assault and battery claim from one of his former hygienists.
Prescilla Veliz-Castillo filed a complaint March 15 in Harris County District Court against Robert Nghia Chang alleging assualt and battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
The plaintiff, according to her complaint, began working as a dental hygienist at Chang's dental practice in Pasadena in September of 2021. She claims that throughout her employment, she suffered repeated verbal abuse that included insults, slurs and attacks. She also claims that on Dec. 16, 2022, Chang asked her to look up at contents on a video screen and then repeated his directive while grabbing and pulling her hair and jerking her head back.
The plaintiff alleges that Chang's actions caused her to suffer severe emotional distress, mental anguish, lost wages and incur medical expenses.
The plaintiff seeks monetary relief, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Wisam Ghuneim of The Ghuneim Law Firm in Pasadena.
