Auto repair worker alleges defective machine caused his injuries

HOUSTON — An auto repair worker alleges a malfunctioning machine caused him to suffer injuries. 

Ricky Woodward filed a complaint March 18 in Harris County District Court against Rodney Devon Ware doing business as Affordable Foreign Auto Repair Inc., alleging negligence. 

Woodward alleges in his complaint that he interviewed for a job with Affordable in Houston on June 10, 2022. He claims that right after the interview, he was hired and began work using a struct compression machine. Woodward further alleges the machine malfunctioned with a piece of the machine to popping off, striking him and causing him to suffer injuries.  

He alleges Affordable's negligence for failing to provide him with necessary training or proper equipment and for not providing a safe work place. Woodward also alleges Affordable's negligence caused him to suffer pain, mental anguish, lost earnings and to incur medical treatment expenses. 

Woodward seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest and all otehr just relief. He is represented by Ciro Samperi and Kyle Knizner of Criaco & Samperi in Houston.
