Galveston — A couple is facing a suit alleging their dog "savagely" attacked a neighbor.

Amy Barnhill filed a complaint April 13 in Galveston County District Court against Coral Artidello and Richard Recckio alleging liability and negligence.

According to her complaint, Barnhill was attempting to get in her car at her home in League City on Sept. 8, 2021, when she was "savagely and brutally struck, attacked and bitten" by the defendants' dog.

She claims that there have been previous incidents in the neighborhood involving the defendants' dog and issues with control and restraint of the animal in their own yard and when they have taken it out into the neighborhood including an attack on her restrained dog.

Barnhill claims the defendants' negligence for failing to properly leash the dog, supervise the animal and for failing to warn of the danger. She alleges she has suffered pain, incurred medical expenses and suffered lost wages as a result of the dog attack.

Barnhill seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Lawrence Tylka of The Tylka Law Center PC in League City.
