GALVESTON — A Ford owner alleges the car manufacturer refuses to honor the warranty on his defective Expedition.

Danielle Patterson filed a complaint April 11 in Galveston County District Court against Ford Motor Company alleging breach of contract and other claims.

According to Patterson's complaint, he purchased a 2021 Ford Expedition in November of 2021 for $72,753, which included a three year 36,000 mile bumper to bumper and five year 60,000 mile powertrain warranty. Patterson claims shortly after purchasing the vehicle he discovered the Expedition would slam into gear when shifting, jerked when shifting into drive or reverse and other transmission issues.

He alleges Ford has refused to provide him with remedies and that the car remains in "defective and unmerchantable" condition. He further alleges he has suffered financial damage due to Ford's failure to comply with the terms of the written warranty.

Patterson seeks monetary relief, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by John Barker of Krohn & Moss LTD in Chicago.
