HOUSTON — A furniture store worker alleges improper equipment, training and supervision caused his severe injuries while lifting items.
Ray Garcia filed a complaint April 17 in Harris County District Court against Linmac Corporation doing business as Gallery Furniture alleging negligence.
According to Garcia's complaint, he was working at the Gallery Furniture on North Freeway in Houston on Nov. 20, 2021. He claims that as he was lifting heavy furniture, he severely injured himself and required medical treatment.
Garcia alleges Gallery Furniture's negligence for failing to provide a safe workplace, failing to have adequate safety polices and procedures and failing to have give him proper assistance, equipment and training. He also claims Gallery Furniture failed to warn him of the dangerous condition and that as a result of their negligence, he suffered pain, disfigurement, impairment, lost earnings and incurred medical expenses.
Garcia seeks monetary relief, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. He is represented by Kevin Michaels of The Law Offices of Kevin R. Michaels PC in Houston and Loren Klitsas of Klitsas & Vercher PC in Houston.
