GALVESTON — A woman alleges she slipped while on a fishing charter boat and suffered severe injuries.

Judith Tapia Falcon filed a complaint May 8 in Galveston County District Court against Galveston Party Boats Inc., alleging negligence.

According to Falcon's complaint, she was a passenger on the defendant's fishing charter vessel "The Cavalier" on July 11, 2021. She claims that as she was walking on the gallery portion of the vessel, she slipped and fell on a dangerous substance.

Falcon alleges she suffered serious bodily injury due to the dangerous hazard and that the defendant knew or reasonably should have know of the hazard and failed to warn others. She also alleges the defendant failed to inspect or maintain the area or have handrails.

Falcon claims she also suffered mental anguish, impairment, disfigurement, lost earnings and incurred medical expenses as a result of her fall.

Falcon seeks monetary relief, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Ryan King of Hagood & King LLC in Alvin.
