HOUSTON — A mechanic working at a brake shop in Cypress alleges he suffered injuries due to lack of safety and proper equipment and training.

Roddy Camper filed a complaint  May 23 in Harris County District Court against Brake Check Inc., alleging negligence.

Camper alleges in his complaint that he was working for Brake Check on May 31, 2021. He claims that as he was working on a vehicle and exiting the alignment rack, a loud snap came from his right leg and that the defendants failed to have a ladder for him to use to get in and out of the vehicles on the alignment rack.

Camper alleges that due to the lack of having a ladder, he was forced to get out of the vehicles from an "unreasonable" height off the ground.

He further alleges the defendant's were negligent for failing to comply with safety regulations or have adequate safety equipment. Camper claims the defendants also did not properly supervise or train its employees, provide him with adequate medical treatment or warn of the hazard.

Camper seeks monetary relief, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. He is represented by Bryant Fitts and Rachel Martin-Deckelmann of The Fitts Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
