HOUSTON — A drilling company founder alleges his brother, who was a former employee, has failed to repay the company for a $50,000 loan.
ZamCo Directional Drilling LLC filed a complaint May 13 in Harris County District Court against Lucas Zamarron alleging breach of contract and other claims.
According to the complaint, ZamCo's founder Josue Zamarron, hired his brothers, including Lucas Zamarron, as employees. Zamarron claims that ZamCo loaned Lucas $50,000. Also according to the plaintiff's complaint, Lucas was to repay the loan through compensation from the company and that ZamCo would deduct $400 weekly from Lucas' pay. The plaintiff claims that Lucas then requested an $8,000 Christmas bonus but was only given $3,000.
The plaintiff alleges that Lucas learned ZamCo's "informal valuation" was $3 million and that Lucas then began to falsely claim he owned a portion of the company while wanting a 50% buyout. The plaintiff further alleges that Lucas quit ZamCo and stopped making payments on his loan while still owing the company $36,400 and retaining possession of some of ZamCo's equipment. The plaintiff claims Lucas is threatening to sue Josue and ZamCo unless ZamCo buys out his share for $1.5 million.
ZamCo seeks monetary relief, interest and all other just relief. They are represented by Anthony Stergio, Bryan Acklin and Elliot Kudisch of Andrews Myers PC in Houston.
