GALVESTON — A pharmacy in Santa Fe alleges a contractor they paid more than $17,000 failed to obtain a permit or complete the installation of their business sign.

McDonald Pharms LLC filed a complaint June 12 in Galveston County District Court against Ashton Lee doing business as South Texas Signs & Electrical alleging breach of contract.

The plaintiff alleges in their complaint that Lee, who they hired to install a 25 foot pole sign at its Lonestar Pharmacy in Santa Fe, failed to complete the work. They claim that they gave Lee $17,590 as an initial deposit and that Lee agreed to do the work for $35,181.25.

The plaintiff further claims that the work Lee did complete was "subpar and unpermitted" which has caused them to have to purchase a new sign and start the project "from scratch." They allege Lee breached their contract by not performing or delaying the completion of the work and accepted their funds while refusing to obtain a permit.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of $250,000 or less, interest and all other just relief. They are represented by Kyle Dickson and Philip Nolen of Murray Lobb PLLC in Houston.
