HOUSTON — A woman alleges a broken step caused her fall an apartment complex in Baytown.

Magan Ramirez filed a complaint July 2 in Harris County District Court against Marina Club and others alleging negligence.

Ramirez alleges in her complaint that she was at the defendants' premises on Missouri Street in Baytown on Sept. 5, 2021. She claims he was walking down the stairs from her friend's apartment when one of the steps broke and caused her fall. Ramirez alleges the defendant failed to warn of the dangerous condition and allowed the creation and continued existence of the hazard.

She also alleges the defendants' employees knew or should have known of the condition and the likelihood that it would cause serious injury. Ramirez claims she has suffered disability, mental anguish, lost earnings and incurred medical expenses as a result of her fall.

Ramirez seeks monetary relief of less than $250,000, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Adam Criaco of Criaco & Samperi in Houston.
