Houston interior design company paid $65,000 allegedly failed to complete project

HOUSTON — A Maryland woman alleges A Houston interior design company she paid $75,000, failed to complete the project. 

Nkiruka Ucheya filed a complaint June 27 in Harris County District Court against Luxe Lifestyles NYC LLC and Luxe Lifestyles Houston LLC alleging breach of contract, negligence, fraud and other claims. 

Ucheya, according to her complaint, entered into an interior design services agreement with Luxe in October of 2021, for $75,000. She claims Luxe currently holds $55,000 in fees that were wrongfully charged and that they failed to provide the services or provide her with a project plan or detailed design for all the rooms and areas in the project. 

Ucheya alleges she provided Luxe with a payment of $75,000, and that they made false representations regarding the scope of work they would provide. She also alleges Luxe's representations regarding the completion date of the project were false and that they breached their agreement by failing to provide her the custom design services. 

Ucheya seeks monetary relief of $250,000 or less, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Derek Staub and Sarah Smith of Frost Brown Todd LLP in Dallas.
