HOUSTON - A former employee of a United Kingdom company that transferred its assets to DHI in Houston is asking the Texas courts to honor a foreign court's decision to award him $105,000, filing a lawsuit in a Harris County Court.

According to discovery documents filed Aug. 3, Simone Rigoni, filed suit against DHI Group Limited LLC., seeking to have a previous judgment  from a UK court transferred to the U.S. Rigoni, according to his complaint, was employed by Fornmigo LTD., which is owned by the Houston-based DHI. The suit alleged that on July 29, 2022, "Fornmigo terminated his employment in violation of his employment agreement."

Rigoni further alleges in April 2023, a UK tribunal found Fornmigo had unfairly fired him and awarded him $105,055.89 in judgement. Rather than pay the judgement, however, Rigoni alleges that Fornmigo transferred all of its assets to DHI in the U.S., adding that his multiple attempts to collect the judgement from DHI had failed. He alleges that under the Uniform Foreign-Country Money Judgements Recognition Act, the Texas court is required to recognized the United Kingdom's judgement.

Rigoni seeks monetary relief, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Gregg Rosenberg of Rosenberg & Associates in Houston.
