Morgan Lewis partners Kelly Gibson and Michelle Pector have been recognized by Corporate Counsel as part of its 2023 Women, Influence & Power in Law (WIPL) Awards. The annual awards honor general counsel, in-house leaders, and law firm partners who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing the empowerment of women in law.
Kelly is an honoree in the Thought Leadership category. As co-leader of Morgan Lewis’s securities enforcement practice and its ESG and sustainability advisory practice, Kelly advises and defends public companies, financial services clients, and their executives in US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), self-regulatory organization, and state enforcement matters, as well as in internal investigations. She frequently comments, presents, and writes about SEC enforcement and regulation and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) matters.
Michelle is an honoree in the Best Mentor category. She is co-chair of Morgan Lewis’s energy litigation practice and has represented energy, technology, and healthcare clients in a wide range of business, consumer, and employment disputes. As a former chair of the ML Women initiative, Michelle helped launch the Latin America Women Lawyer Network. Michelle also actively mentors the firm’s litigation associates in her roles as firmwide co-chair of litigation training and as a course planner and leading faculty member for the firm’s Trial Academy.
Kelly and Michelle will be recognized along with the other honorees at an October 18 awards dinner in New Orleans and will be featured in Corporate Counsel in October.
