HOUSTON – An employee of Weeks Marine, Inc. has filed a negligence lawsuit claiming that he was injured while working on the company boat.
Plaintiff Brandon Decker filed the lawsuit in the Harris County Circuit Court against Weeks Marine, Inc., citing negligence.
According to the lawsuit, Decker was employed by Weeks Marine, Inc., and on June 18, 2023, he was a member of a crew assigned to a boat owned and operated by the defendant. The lawsuit alleges that while he was aboard the boat, he tripped over a survey tool sticking out of the boat, causing him to fall and injure himself.
According to Decker, Weeks Marine was negligent in failing to provide him with proper equipment, failing to properly maintain the equipment and the vessel, failing to provide warning of the defects of the vessel, failing to have properly trained crew members and employees, failing to provide a safe working environment, and general negligence.
Decker alleges that as a result of the defendant's negligence, he has sustained severe bodily injuries, which have caused him to experience pain, suffering, mental anguish, other medical problems, and lost wages. He claims that his injuries will impact his ability to earn income and lead a normal life, and he adds that he has incurred medical expenses and will continue to require the services of medical staff to recover from his injuries.
The plaintiff is demanding a jury trial to seek $100,000,000 for damages, court costs, and any other relief the court deems proper. He is represented in this case by attorneys Jason A. Itkin and Trent A. Shelton of Arnold & Itkin, LLP in Houston.
