HOUSTON – A Texas woman has filed a lawsuit against the owners of the Houston Toyota Center after a drunken patron allegedly injured her by falling on her.
Plaintiff Elena Alfaro filed the lawsuit in the Harris County District Court against Clutch City Sports & Entertainment, L.P.; Pritchard Sports & Entertainment Group Ltd., and Levy Premium Foodservice, L.L.C., citing negligence and premises liability.
According to court documents, on September 29, 2022, Alfaro was attending a concert at Houston Toyota Center, a venue owned and operated by the defendants, and claims that while she was on the premises, a drunk patron fell on top of her, causing her to fall forward to the next seat, resulting in serious bodily injuries.
The plaintiff alleges that the defendants, as the owners, managers, and operators of the Toyota Center, failed to maintain the premises, failed to provide a safe environment, and failed to warn of or eliminate dangerous conditions. Additionally, defendant Levy Premium Foodservice, L.L.C. is accused of overserving alcohol to patrons.
Alfaro is seeking a judgment for monetary damages greater than $250,000 but less than $1 million for pain and suffering, physical impairment, mental anguish, disfigurement, lost wages, medical expenses, plus interest, court costs and any other relief the court deems proper. She is represented in this case by attorney Sofia E. Bruera of the Bruera Law Firm, PLLC, in Houston.
