HOUSTON - A man who was injured on a trampoline two years ago at an Urban Air Adventure Park has filed a lawsuit seeking more than $1 million in damages.
Alleging gross negligence, Elmer Henry filed suit against the owners of Urban Air and Southpoint Phase 1 on Nov. 13 in Harris County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, Henry’s “traumatic and preventable injury” occurred on Nov. 13, 2021, at Urban Air. While using a trampoline as intended, the padding over the springs shifted, causing his leg to get caught in the springs.
As a result, Henry suffered a large laceration to his right knee.
“Defendants were in a position to know that the inadequate spring covering involved an extreme degree of risk,” the suit states. “Despite knowing the risks… Defendants did nothing to remedy or correct the hazard and did nothing to warn or prevent the hazard from causing injury.”
In addition to punitive damages, Henry is suing for his past and future pain, mental anguish, impairment, disfigurement, medical expenses and lost wages.
