HOUSTON – A maintenance worker has filed a negligence lawsuit against the city of Houston and the Houston Airport System, alleging that she suffered serious injuries after stepping into a hole at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
Plaintiff Jenny Alcazar filed the lawsuit in the Harris County District Court against the City of Houston and the Houston Airport System, citing allegations of negligence.
According to the court documents, the defendants are the owners and operators of the George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and are responsible for maintaining the premises, including the sidewalks.
Alcazar alleges that she was an employee working for Professional Janitorial Services and was subcontracted to clean the grounds at IAH. She claims that while she was pushing a trash bin on the sidewalk located on the defendants' premises, she stepped in a hole and seriously injured herself.
The lawsuit states that the defendants had a duty to maintain the premises to protect the safety of visitors. Despite this, the defendants negligently allowed a hazardous condition to exist on the premises and failed to warn the plaintiff of the dangers of the premises.
Alcazar claims to have suffered bodily injuries as a result of the defendants' negligence. She is seeking damages for pain, suffering, mental anguish, physical impairment, and medical expenses, plus interest, court costs, and any other relief the court deems proper.
The plaintiff is represented by attorney Christopher Brown of The Brown Law Group, PLLC, in Houston.
