TLRPAC endorses Jessica Lewis for election to the 5th Court of Appeals

AUSTIN – Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC (TLRPAC) today endorsed Jessica Lewis of Dallas County for election to Place 2 on the 5th Court of Appeals, which covers Collin, Dallas, Grayson, Hunt, Kaufman and Rockwall counties, a press release states.

“Texas judges make critical decisions every day that impact our families and our freedoms, particularly on our intermediate appellate courts, which are often the last stop for some of the most consequential decisions affecting our state,” TLRPAC General Counsel Lee Parsley said. “Jessica Lewis’ broad experience as a civil litigator will bring important background and a fresh approach to this active appellate court. She is committed to applying the plain words of the law. TLRPAC is proud to support her.”

Lewis is counsel at Ross, Smith and Binford PC, where she handles Chapter 11 reorganization and insolvency matters. She began her legal career at Baker Botts LLP, working on complex bankruptcy and litigation matters for clients in various businesses and industries, while also giving her time in numerous legal and non-legal volunteer capacities.  She previously worked for a Dallas-based non-profit representing residents of high-crime neighborhoods in civil litigation and probate-related matters focused on enhancing community safety. 

Lewis received a bachelor’s degree from East Texas Baptist University and a law degree from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, where she was administrative managing editor of the SMU Law Review, a member of the Barristers, vice magister of the school’s inn of the Phi Delta Phi legal honor society, and president of its Christian Legal Society chapter. She is a member of the Dallas Bar Association, the 2019 recipient of the State Bar of Texas Bankruptcy Law Section Young Lawyers Committee’s Romina L. Mulloy-Bossio Achievement Award and a 2015 recipient of the SMU Women in Law Distinguished Young Alumni Award.

TLRPAC is the political arm of Texans for Lawsuit Reform (TLR), the largest civil justice reform organization in Texas.
