A Texas woman has filed a lawsuit against her former spouse, accusing him of unlawfully distributing intimate photographs without her consent. On January 3, 2025, Amy Lynn Stansbury filed a complaint in the District Court of Harris County, Texas, against John Paul Stansbury. The case alleges serious violations of privacy and emotional distress stemming from the unauthorized dissemination of private images.

According to the court documents, Amy Lynn Stansbury and John Paul Stansbury were previously married but divorced on January 4, 2022. Despite their divorce, they continued to live together until October 8, 2022, and maintained an intimate relationship until January 8, 2023. It was on this date that John Paul allegedly began sending numerous text messages and emails containing intimate photographs of Amy to her mother and stepfather. These images included explicit content where Amy's identity was clearly recognizable.

The plaintiff claims that these actions were carried out with the intent to "embarrass, harass, torment, humiliate and shame" her. She argues that such behavior has caused her significant distress and severe mental anguish. The lawsuit outlines several causes of action including negligence per se for violating statutes like TEXAS CIVIL PRACTICE & REMEDIES CODE Chapter 98B and TEXAS PENAL CODE §21.16 related to unlawful disclosure or promotion of intimate visual material.

Amy Lynn Stansbury is seeking compensatory damages for the harm caused by these alleged actions as well as exemplary damages due to what she describes as malicious conduct by John Paul Stansbury. She also seeks recovery for attorneys' fees under relevant sections of the Texas Civil Practice & Remedies Code.

The case is being handled by The Clark Law Firm P.C., with attorney services provided by them on behalf of Amy Lynn Stansbury. The case is presided over in the Harris County District Court under Case ID: 2025-00512.
