HOUSTON - A lawsuit alleging a man tripped over a tire rack while at Discount Tire was recently filed against the company.
Kenneth Wright filed the suit on Jan. 5 in Harris County District Court, also naming Megan Griffin as a defendant.
According to the lawsuit, on Jan. 14, 2023, Wright was at Discount Tire in Katy to resolve a puncture in his vehicle’s tire. While there, he needed to use the restroom and was directed by Griffin as to the path to use to reach the restroom.
“While on his way there, Plaintiff tripped over the leg of a tire rack which obstructed the path,” the suit states. “There was no sign at an elevated, more visible height to warn Plaintiff of the potential hazard the stand posed.”
Wright’s head impacted on the floor. He experienced dizziness for an hour in addition to a painful range of motion in his knees and elbows, the suit states.
He is suing for his pain, mental anguish, medical expenses and impairment.
Attorney C. Michael Davis of Attorney Brian White & Associates represents him.
