Hermenegildo Portales has filed a lawsuit against 7-Eleven, Inc. in the County Civil Court at Law No. 3 in Harris County, Texas. The case ID is '*2°480 and the filing was made on March 6, 2024. The plaintiff alleges that the defendant sold him contaminated gasoline which damaged his vehicle.

The incident occurred on April 20, 2023, when Portales purchased gasoline for his vehicle from a 7-Eleven station located at 1211 East Crosstimbers St., Houston, TX. Shortly after using the gasoline, Portales' vehicle started running poorly. The plaintiff claims that the gasoline was not fit for its intended use and thus defective.

Portales is represented by attorneys Stephen Garner and Meredith M. Peek of Garner & Peek PLLC. He seeks damages totaling $32,634.17 for repair costs to his vehicle and personal property damage within the jurisdictional limits of the court.

The plaintiff also assigned a portion of this cause of action to State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company before filing the lawsuit. This insurance company paid out an undisclosed sum to Portales under their insuring agreement and now has the right to file suit in his name.
