Billy and Angelina Ayoola have filed a lawsuit against Memorial Hermann Health System, Memorial Hermann Cypress Hospital, Dr. Derek Allan Woo, Dr. Pascal Kingah, MD, Dr. Robier Aguillion Prada, and Dr. Adalberto Torres in the District Court of Harris County, Texas under the case number 2024-20652. The court filing was made on April 1, 2024.

The plaintiffs allege that Billy Ayoola was admitted to Memorial Hermann Cypress Hospital on April 2, 2022 due to severe pain radiating from his back to his lower extremities. His condition was suspected to be Acute Chest Syndrome (ACS), a potentially life-threatening condition. The defendants are accused of negligence as they allegedly failed to provide appropriate and timely medical care which resulted in Billy being hospitalized for over four months and left him paralyzed from the neck down, unable to speak and partially blind.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendants for their alleged breach of duty and negligence. They claim that the hospital staff delayed initiating appropriate emergent treatment and there was a six-hour delay in transferring Billy Ayoola to another facility for further treatment.
